Terry and 1st June

May has left the building and June has arrived.

She is looking pretty hot. Today at 4.30pm we've got Colin Kennedy and Nike SB chums arriving at the shop to sign their sole to Focus, then hop on the 6.00pm tube to Kelvingrove to show the skills only the swoosh can give you. Which leads on nicely to remind you that you too can wear a pair tomorrow, with lots of free shoes to give out. Come on down....the price is right!

Mark Gonzales. Saturday 3rd June 6.30pm.

That's all you need to know......except there is again a box of Krooked product to go your way. Will it make you skate like Gonz? Doubt it.

Later on Saturday there may be something else happening, but the word will spread for that on the night.

We're only 3 days into June and already things are off the charts.

When the Commander gets back I'll get a statement regarding Livi Skate Party-Scoregon's own tent city.

Krooked Premiere back to the top!!

Here it is folks the most anticipated film since Rocky II. This Saturday 3rd of June at 6.30pm in the Glasgow branch of Focus is the one and only Scottish Premiere of Krooked Kronicles. There's a bunch of free Krap (actually a bunch of Krooked merchandise) to be given out and expect 30 minutes of skating and Gonzoland antics!

Guest riders section features Christian Hosoi, Marc Johnson, Guy Mariano, Pat Duffy, Lance Mountain, Jason Dill, John Cardiel, Dustin Dollin, Matt Rodriguez and more.

Only available in Scotland from Focus.

Although Adidas have been involved in skateboarding for a few years now it's only this time round that they're going full tilt at it and lucky old us have been selected as the only Scottish stockists. The line features some classics such as the Superstar and the Stan Smith and some new additions like the Carcel.

Click here for some more images.

Evan Hecox designed the Stan Smith above and this will undoubtedly be one of the most sought after models. The footwear and clothing ranges will be arriving some time in July and if you want any more details just phone us on 0131 229 9009 or e-mail us here.

Don't forget the Adidas sponsored Krooked Premiere this Saturday 3rd June in our Glasgow store.

Good Show

Thanks to everyone who turned up for the Circa signing in the shop and premiere last night, go on the Glasgow crew. The second showing was packed down the sides, which stressed the Filmhouse staff out, don't know something to do with fire safety, ah well all good. After the film there was a wee sesh at the Sheraton ledge then down to Dynamic Earth which was a bust straight away, so many kids. Back to the Sheraton where Peter Ramondetta laid down a 5.0 then off to the pub for far too many. Just remember Ferg that's one all at pool, decider next time.

The Circa team signed a Focus tee for us as a prize which is up for grabs if you can answer this extremely difficult question, What board company does Adrian Lopez skate for?
e-mail us your answer here.

(Closing date for the contest is Friday June 9th)

Just a Minute.

Hey punks, The Minutemen documentary is almost out to buy.

I saw this up at Stereo back in December and it is really good. Think Streets On Fire or any Santa Cruz video.

You should check this out when it's released simply for the ethos that Mike Watt, D.Boon and George Hurley operated. Inspirational to say the least.

Mike Watt has a website(a.r)

Spoked in the park

STOP PRESS!
All Spoked members (skaters stoked on cycling) there is a Critical Mass Bike ride tonight from George Square. 5.30 for 6pm.

From the website...Critical Mass is not an organization, it's an unorganized coincidence. It's a movement ... of bicycles, in the streets. Lycra for beginners.

Yes. Lets pedal. Ride it like you stole it!

This weekend Focus Glasgow has a stall at The Wee Chill. Aye man chilling. More details at Wee Chill It's up in Queen's Park on Sunday and you may see some muppets on bikes too.

It's G.B's birthday this weekend too. Guess his age for a prize.

Uncle John and Whitelock are also playing this weekend at Stereo. Stereo is shutting it's doors soon...don't fear though they have a new venue.

Things to remember:

June 1st Nike SB UK tour, come and get CK's autograph.

June 3rd Krooked Premiere, Lots of free Krooked product to give out. Be there.

Thanks and good Thursday to you.

Dundonian Weekend

This weekend is the official Dundee Council opening of The Onions skatepark. Focus Glasgow is doing a wee stall there tomorrow alongside some peh sellers, face paint shows and the finest skatepark I've ever been at.

Dundee is also appearing in RAD magazine online at When We Was Rad. TLB, ruler.

Dundee is also the home of the the 3 J's. Jute, Jam and journalism. 3 J's.

Dundee is the sunniest of all the Scottish cities as it's the only one facing south.

Dundee has a long successful history of bingo playing. The women working in the Jute mills needed fast hands working the machinery so when it came to filling out a scorecard they were fast. World record fast I'm told.

Friday quiz has two questions...

What was the trick Lee Ralph did at the 1st factory that got everyone talking?

What are you asking for if you say 'aninganinganauh'? (spelt like it sounds)

Dundee Day is now in session.
