Good wood dude.

Just had a wedge of new wood through the door from Plan B and The Harmony. Catch them at our Edinburgh and Glasgow stores this weekend.

22 July 2007

27/07/07 is Operation Doomsday.

Daniel Dumile aka Zev Love X aka King Geedorah aka Viktor Vaughn aka MF Doom!! In my opinion to this day Doom is the most talented artist to emerge from the wreckage that is modern hip hop. Originally part of the group KMD, MF Doom came about after Dumile's disenchantment with the hip hop industry and the death of his brother. Always performing behind a mask Dumile has kept his personal life private, preferring to use his incredible talent to put forward his views on the world. So for Nike SB to get him to agree to a collaboration shoe is no mean feat. The shoe you see above has been created to coincide with the release of the album MM Food and is one of the hottest SB's for sometime.

On Friday 27th July at 10am in our Edinburgh store we will have a very limited number of pairs of the MF Doom dunk on a strictly first come first served basis.

In the meantime, watch the video below, click on the links and learn about the man known as MF Doom.

Turning the place over.....

Stole this from the UARM blog but I was so blown away by it I had to put it up here. Richard Wilson is the name of the artist and wether you regard this as art or not it's definitely a great piece of engineering.

Enjoy.

Richard Wilson the artist not Richard Wilson the actor of "I don't believe it!" fame.

Knar buckles.

Head on over to the Osiris website for a short interview with Stu Graham. As usual it's an entertaining insight into the world of The Manbeast. Although how anyone from outside Scotland can understand what he says when it's written form is beyond me. Drop us an e-mail if you need any translations.

You'll have to speak up I'm wearing a towel!

Collaborations are ten a penny these days but every now and then something special comes along. To coincide with the release of The Simpsons Movie, Vans comissioned 14 artists to design a shoe featuring the worlds most famous family. Stash, Kaws, Mr Cartoon, Jeff McFetridge, Futura and Neckface amongst others came up with some incredible creations which unfortunately for me and pretty much everyone else on the planet were only available in very limited numbers. Check out E-bay for the already daft prices these are fetching. Oh and if anyone has a size US9.5 in the Kaws shoe get in touch!!

New Additions

There must be something in the water or our Scottish weather forces couples to find other things to do indoors. There has been a gamut of babies born recently and here's the newest additions, Davey and Melski had a girl called Lily and Gillian and the Bazman had a wee boy called Keiran. Aw the best to you all. Only Col and Lisa to go now. Col is busy building a winch to get Lisa off the couch she's so big. They'll be joining the convoy of prams soon. A big appology to Barry for spelling his son's name wrong, it's been corrected now.

Sidewalk Issue 129

The new issue of Sidewalk is in store now which features The War of the Thistles, First Light from Owen Hopkins, trick tips from Jamie Thomas, a stupidly easy comp to win trucks and more photos of our very own Colin Kennedy than most folk get in a whole career. Oh yeah Div's there too, no surprise! He's off to Malmo in Sweeden for the final stages of the Quicksilver Bowl Riders Comp on Thursday. Watch out for Div's Adio shoe colourway. Who knows what that'll be, probably just comes with a tin of spraypaint and broken laces!

Weird Creatures

The Glasgow store has just had a visit from Div, Paul Sylvester and Alex Irvine on there way to pick up Stew Graham and Benson for the Creature premiere at Scotlands finest skatepark, Transition Extreme in Aberdeen. The film starts at 7pm followed by a BBQ then the onslaught of the bowl begins. I'm sure it'll be a frenzied affair, who knows the Notorious P.I.G. might get the slashes out!

Have you spotted the spot yet?

Answers on the back of a postcard if you know where this spot is. Clue: David Bowie is also known as the Thin White .......?

Fuel TV

John Rattray was recently on Fuel TV's "The Daily Habit" where he talked about his recent trip to Mexico, Sonic Youth and how Snickers give him heartburn. The only thing he never said was what a Scotsman wears under his kilt, got to keep those American girls guessing. Also under discussion was the Trees for Tomorrow project where proceeds for Johns' new Leaf deck go towards sustainable forests. A worthy cause indeed. John is wearing one of the best t-shirts ever, Stew Graham's big heid. Congratulations to Stew and Chelsea on the birth of their second daughter Olivia, so named so it can be shortened to Livi! Go on.

Check out Johns new Leaf deck here.

It's the new style!

Just had a new batch of the Focus X Josimar t-s delivered. We've had a healthy restock of the Kelly Green and Black colourways and the new colourway you see above.

We're working on a couple of new t-s just in time for the summer. Stay tuned.

The King Of Livi!

Here's the picture we've all been waiting on. 11 months after winning the coveted Livi trophy 2006, Sprocket finally prises it from Bensons' grubby wee fingers and gets it on his mantelpiece. Stoked, who says teach an auld dug new tricks when the old one's rock. Expect head high board varials again from the reigning champ. Stew Graham is back and the Mighty Div and Benson are killing it. Step up south of the border, the trophy has never left Scotland.
We've just heard from Ali Low (the wanderer returns) that this years Livingston's Pure Fun Skate Party 2007 will be on the 30th June & 1st July. Ali and the Commander will be organising this years mayhem, expect a sound system, live bands, dj's and of course the infamous coffin and 2 minutes to midnight bowl jam. Be there or get a note from yer ma.

Let's Do this!

It's that time of the year again! I don't know about you but I always look forward to the new Transworld video. The filming, editing, and production always seem to be the best and the skating never disappoints. This is the first (and probably only)trailer for the new video. Transworld must be the only people who bang out amazing videos on a regular basis, no two year video hype and no team changes holding back filming.
Have a look at the trailer and tell me it doesn't look good.......
