Black & White

The Obey Black & White Collection is now instore and online. The concept behind this collection was to reissue some classic prints from years gone by, but strip it back to the basics and only use black and white t-shirts with contrasting prints.

These are only available in 15 stores across the Uk and supply is very limited.

View the Obey Black & White Collection here.

Cheers Finlay!

Little Finlay who frequents the shop (especially on Sundays) has done us proud. Check out the clock he made for us at school, pretty impressive.

Finlay's parents owe a really cool toy shop on Victoria St, Click on the link for some authentic wooden toys.

Point & Shoot #1

Was about to head home after a post-shift session at Kelvingrove yesterday when young Thomas Shimmin Esq. started to attack these stairs. All of this went down within 10 minutes (half cab flip first try!), impressive stuff.

Look out for more local footage shot on a shitty digital camera on here throughout the Summer. Bo!

Horton in the House.

My Ben Horton painting finally made it to Edinburgh courtesy of Mr Cubic and the US Mail. Looks like it'll be staying at the office for the time being though, as the wife's not too keen on it. Philistine!

Shepard Fairey does Orwell

Obey mastermind Shepard Fairey has put together these covers for the latest editions of George Orwell's classic totalitarian tales, 1984 and Animal Farm. The covers are very well put together and capture the mood of the books perfectly, and will hopefully go some way towards drawing more attention to Orwell's work from current generations. A bit of Orwell's always worth a read!

These new editions should be available soon at www.penguinbooks.co.uk

éS Game Of Skate UK 2008

The annual éS big Game Of Skate is now taking place, with the first heat having passed already on May 17th (apologies for the lateness). No Scottish leg though? What gives? For any proactive Scots out there fancying their chances, I recommend you get yourself down to Manchester (it's not that far!) on the 22nd of June and show the rest of this United Kingdom how it's done!

www.esgameofskate.com

Cheers!

Thanks to the good people at Scottish Power, not only are the digging up the street again, they've taken it upon themselves to park there van right in front of the shop. I've been in work for a couple of hours now and they haven't set one foot outside.
The good news is the weathers not that great today so the chances of them taking there tops off is pretty slim.

Bank Holiday edit

Kevin Parrott was lucky (unlucky perhaps?) to spend the weekend with Messrs Div, Benson, Awadh and Aaron Sweeney at Cantelowes and Saffron Walden and he threw together a fine little edit for your viewing pleasure. Click below to view.

I've also just noticed Benson's wearing a Hearts top, so that's him kicked off the shop team. Ha ha!

War Of The Thistles III Footage

ABERDEEN:

Some ridiculous skating went down at Aberdeen's amazingly named 'Transition Extreme' skatepark on the first of WOTT's two legs last weekend. Joe Lynskey & Kris Vile's stuff over the driveway and also Benson & Aaron Sweeney's stuff in the bowl area is what stands out for me.

DUMBARTON:

Nice to see people making good use of the big daft banks/rails at Unit 23 here, Neil Smith's feeble down the long rail is pretty daft. Is it just me or does the old bowl look tiny and slow now that the new bigger bowl is there?

Thanks to MPORA and Sidewalk for the footage.

March footy from sunny Glesgaaaa

Some sick stuff going on in this edit, particularly Forbes Bryce retaining the title of Slam Champion (Slampion?) for the second month running.

Thanks to pAuL dA vXsTeR for the footage.

Campus Vulc?

Went to give a customer a pair of the new Castrucci Campus Vulcs to try on today and found these in their place:

Ta for the jazzy shoes, Adidas!

15 April 2008

Unit 23's new bowl is finished

The back area of Unit 23's first hall had been closed off for some time as construction got under way on this monster of a bowl, but now it's complete and ready for the upcoming War Of The Thistles weekend. There are still places left on the WOTT bus (leaving from Eddinburgh) if anyone needs them, get in touch with either shop for more info.

Typical!

Skate all winter with no problems? Looking forward to the summer? Not Graeme Cunningham, he's looking forward to spending the next 16 weeks on the couch!

Brake your ankle in 3 places? Looking forward to being able to walk this summer?

Get well soon Graeme!
