Found $x$W Fundraiser Album

Edinburgh based FOUND are an artist collective / experimental pop band and friends of us here at Focus. In March this year the band travel to Texas to the SxSW festival and we're stoked to be helping them raise funds to make this happen. We'll be producing a limited edition t-shirt which should be available in a couple of weeks and proceeds from the sales will go towards their trip. As well as this they have produced a download album which you can purchase by clicking the link at the bottom.

"Snarebrained is a download album featuring a collection of exclusive remixes and songs previously only available on limited edition vinyl. It features collaborations and remixes from Lisa Lindley Jones, De Rosa, Jonnie Common (Down The Tiny Steps) and Akira Kiteshi.

The album has been produced to help raise money to pay for the band to travel to SxSW and as such FOUND have devised an unconventional payment method. The album has five different prices so that the music buyerhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif can decide how much to give FOUND towards their campaign to conquering the US.

Payment is made through PayPal, but you don’t need to have an account, just a credit or debit card. Select the price you wish to pay from the menu below and click the ‘add to cart’ button, then follow the instructions. Once your payment has been accepted you will be sent a confirmation email from FOUND containing a download link and unique password. If you have any problems don’t hesitate to contact us on info@foundtheband.com

Many thanks for your support!"

Today's Luncheon!

Yaaaaaaaaaaas

Gingervitis

There's an interesting article up on the Guardian website about gingerism (discrimination against gingers) being the last acceptable prejudice. I've certainly witnessed some discrimination against gingers over the years, so thought I'd ask our resident Ginger Mr. Tait how many of the derogatory names in the article he'd been subject to. Here are the results:

Ginge
Ginger Nut
Ginger Minger
Carrot Top
Duracell
Period Head
Ginger Bollocks
Ginger Pubes
You Lanky String Of Ginger Piss

Graham gets a whopping score of 6! He has refused to comment on whether or not he'd been called my personal favourite, 'copper sacks'.

Anyhoo, enough of this nonsense, here's the article:

Team Pain

I saw a link to the Team Pain website on Crailtap, and it turns out they're a skate park construction company (and the team behind this year's Tampa Am course) who also specialise in some pretty snazzy stand alone skate obstacles too. Check these bad boys out:

Hopefully Glasgow City Council can get them on the case for a plaza outside of St Enoch Centre.... My arse!

Seems like we're blogging more about the recent US elections than anything at the moment, but this is suitably ridiculous to warrant posting. Comprising of over 220 images from a Canon G10, this link on Gigapan uses Flash technology to give an ultra detailed look at a scene from Tuesday's presidential inauguration.

Aviemore needs a skatepark.

Anyone who is anyone will know of Aviemore's rich skateboarding heritage and the word Chevvy's will bring a smile or look of fear to a lot of peoples faces. Sadly though Aviemore has been skateless since the destruction of this legendary spot and it just hasn't been the same since.

But fear not, some good people have organised themselves to campaign for a proper facility in Aviemore and you can help out by clicking the link below and adding your name to the petition.

Agent Cooper and his Kicks

Twin Peaks

Brand spanking new Nikes now in, including the über-limited Twin Peaks Dunk High, two colourways in the new Air Zoom Veloce (White and Black) and a nice new P-Rod 2 in the rather fetching Forest Green/Lemon Drop colourway.

Dee Vee Dees

If Fully Flared was the DVD that changed the way we watched skate videos, then its bigger, chunkier brother The Final Flare will probably blow your head clean off your neck. With over 10 hours crammed onto 3 discs, including a Blu-Ray version if you've got a posh DVD player, it'll keep you occupied well beyond the usual slew of rubbish Xmas movies.

And as if that ain't enough, Landscape has just released Horizons, its latest video featuring the 4-wheeled skills of Snowy, Soy Panday, Nick Stansfield, Joey Pressey et al and what might well be the last ever video part from their retiring veteran Joel Curtis.

Both are available online, or if you just can't wait, in-store.

Kinning Park Banks Tees

Kinning Park

We've got a good tradition of collabs on t-shirts at Focus, and our latest is a real peach. We hooked up with the ludicrously-talented Tommy Perman of Surface Pressure on a premium tee featuring artwork of the much-sessioned Kinning Park banks through in Glasgow. Available in sizes S through to XL and in two colours, they'll look rad whether you managed a BS flip at the banks or you're just a person of exceptional taste. Click the image above to check 'em out.
