Our Ramp.. In the Middle of Our House

Ramp House

Remember Danny Way's part in H-Street's Shackle Me Not where he does a caveman boardslide down the banister inside Mike Ternasky's house to get a part in the video? Well, over in Athens they've taken this concept just a wee bit further. The Ramp House is the kind of place any skater would love to live in. Drool at it here.

102 minutes that changed America.

9/11 was without a doubt the defining moment of this generation and everyone will remember where they were when it took place. The History Channel have produced this fine documentary which chronicles the sequence of events from the time the first plane hit the North Tower to the time of the second collapse. Combining footage by over a 100 amateur filmers and no commentary, it's a very personal look at what took place.

Check out the trailer below and see the full documentary on the History Channel.

Our Edinburgh shop is moving.......

After 8 memorable years on the West Port we've decided to take the leap and move to a new shop. As of June the 1st we'll be in our new home on the Royal Mile. Nestled amongst the tartan towels, see you Jimmy wigs and other useless crap we'll be bringing you all the goodness you'd expect from Focus in our brand spanking new store.

So come and see us then at 270 Canongate, The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, EH8 8AA.

Here's the shop in its old guise on Google Street View. It's the one with the blue awning.

World Industries DVD Boxset!

I came back from a short holiday in Barca to find our order of the World Industries DVD box set had arrived, so I've been treating myself to much 90s goodness over the last few days. The set features all the 90s World videos, from Rubbish Heap right up to Trilogy, and has commentaries for each from the likes of World Industries founder Steve Rocco, Rodney Mullen, Daniel Castillo, Shiloh Greathouse, Richard Mulder, Clyde Singleton & Enrique Lorenzo. There's a bunch of tours & unused footage on the discs too. If you've never seen videos like Trilogy or 20 Shot Sequence, then I suggest you pick this up for a glimpse at the early careers of Jason Dill, Gino Iannucci, Lavar & Marcus McBride, & Daewon Song. If you have seen these classic videos before, then you'll know they're worth picking up. Available at both Glasgow & Edinburgh stores for the modest sum of £24.95. Buy it here.

Nike Restocks & Scrum Tilly Lush DVD

A big Nike SB restock has arrived in both stores, with full sizes runs of Blazer Elites, Purple suede Blazer Premiums, Black/White Dunk Highs, Twin Peaks Dunk Highs, Black/White Blazer Lows & Marina Dunk Mids available in Glasgow in Edinburgh. These shoes sold out pretty quickly over the festive period, so get them while you still can!

Along with those, we've got a bunch of copies of Phillip Evans new DVD 'The Scrum Tilly Lush', which features the likes of Wieger Van Wageningen, Soy Panday, Conhuir Lynn, Danny Wainwright & Nick Jensen skating their home towns. Definitely a break from the ramped slow mo & HD wankery of more blockbuster efforts, at £9.95 it's a bargain and a half, and perfect to help welcome the skateable weather March is sure to bring. We've still got plenty of copies of Alien Workshop's Mind Field in stock too, so fire down to either store if your DVD collection is sorely lacking some new skate action.

Found $x$W Fundraiser Album

Edinburgh based FOUND are an artist collective / experimental pop band and friends of us here at Focus. In March this year the band travel to Texas to the SxSW festival and we're stoked to be helping them raise funds to make this happen. We'll be producing a limited edition t-shirt which should be available in a couple of weeks and proceeds from the sales will go towards their trip. As well as this they have produced a download album which you can purchase by clicking the link at the bottom.

"Snarebrained is a download album featuring a collection of exclusive remixes and songs previously only available on limited edition vinyl. It features collaborations and remixes from Lisa Lindley Jones, De Rosa, Jonnie Common (Down The Tiny Steps) and Akira Kiteshi.

The album has been produced to help raise money to pay for the band to travel to SxSW and as such FOUND have devised an unconventional payment method. The album has five different prices so that the music buyerhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif can decide how much to give FOUND towards their campaign to conquering the US.

Payment is made through PayPal, but you don’t need to have an account, just a credit or debit card. Select the price you wish to pay from the menu below and click the ‘add to cart’ button, then follow the instructions. Once your payment has been accepted you will be sent a confirmation email from FOUND containing a download link and unique password. If you have any problems don’t hesitate to contact us on info@foundtheband.com

Many thanks for your support!"
