The migration or should i say homage to Aberdeen started for us last Thursday. The park is truely astounding, go on Andy Dobson and co. for a job well done. Wasn't too busy when we arrived at 2pm but by 4pm we were the only 4 in the whole park. It's £1.50 registration (that's so they have a next of kin to phone when the over vert capsule eats you up) and £4.50 for a two hour sesh. There are changing facilities and free showers to use so the journey home is non sweaty. Chillers can use the cafe, viewing area and pool tables whilst the other shred. Over the door was fun, hard to get speed if your regular but goofy footers will love it. Ricky Simpson is back from the States and ollied over the top of the door whilst the Commander effortlessly carved it. Russ Hall got his vert legs back in the bowl, 10ft high with half a foot of vert and not a kink to be felt. Make the effort to go there, you'll love it.

War of The Thistles.

Last weekend was the annual skate hootenanny War of The Thistles and by all accounts it was a banger! The first day was held at the brand new work of art that is Transition Extreme Skatepark in Aberdeen.

In case you missed it Will Sloan has uploaded this edit for your viewing pleasure featuring Stew Graham, Benson, The Commander and others. Stew's backside boneless is a peach.

More Junk

Here's another example of what you can find lying around when you move house. This photo was taken by my old mate Billy who used to stay with Big Davie Mo Mo who you can actually see loungin' in the background. I've had this photo for about ten years although you wouldn't have thought it from the condition it's in.

Who else can you spot in the back ground?
2 points if you said Ian 'The Gimp'.
4 points if you got Jezz's mum.
And a full 6 points if you can spotted Fuat lurkin out of focus.

The Dug and his bark.

Sunday night saw the Wallopers support the mighty Certain Death in Subway, Cowgate. A severely tanked up affair with the King of Livi (he has the trophey to prove it now, cheers Benson) aka Sprocket on guest vocals for the Wallopers new song 4-wheel steed. Sprocket can't even remember the first pub nevermind singing, total punk rock, chuckin the mic about too, hilarious! Big Mark Burrows was on form, constant mosh-on.
Certain Death are super tight and for once the sound in the Subway was half decent. Can't wait to see the DVD they've been workin on, gonna be rockin. Bring on the next gig.

Junk

The crap thing about moving flats is that you have to pack up all you junk, lift all your crap down 50 stairs, then lug it up even more stairs than before. It's always the top floor and i have no idea why? Anyway, whilst sorting out a big box of mess i came across this bad boy. This was taken at day trip that the shop organised down to Bolton, look at that face! Priceless.
Hopefully i'll be able to find some more classic photos to post up, not till after the Snooker of course!

An uninvited Gest

Yesterday saw a visit into the Edinburgh shop from David Gest the self promoting wierdo that Liza Minelli dumped and so-called celeb from "I'm a sudo celebrity get me on the telly again". Tweaked out is not the word, he was standing half in half out the door waving to all the passing cars, shouting hi, i love you fans, can't let my fans down! Good news though he's moved to Britain so you too may have the chance to pretend you don't know who he is, seems to wind him up!

Kurt Vonnegut 1922-2007

Kurt Vonnegut, whose dark comic talent and urgent moral vision in novels like “Slaughterhouse-Five,” “Cat’s Cradle” and “God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater” caught the temper of his times and the imagination of a generation, died last night in Manhattan.

Vonnegut used humor to tackle the basic questions of human existence: Why are we in this world? Is there a presiding figure to make sense of all this, a god who in the end, despite making people suffer, wishes them well?
With a blend of vernacular writing, science fiction, jokes and philosophy, he also wrote about the banalities of consumer culture, for example, or the destruction of the environment.

Man Beast Returns

By the time you read this Stew should be back from his 10 day trip to Barcelona with the 1,2 Osiris crew. No doubt he'll be tearing Livi among other places a new arse hole in the coming months.
To check out whats happening in barcelona with the Osiris folk click here.

Sunny Side needs more light...

Dundee, officially the sunniest city in Scotland, needs our help...

Please follow THIS link and sign the petition to help one of the best skateparks 'wallow' in some extra artificial light.

Do it....it'll take a second.

Then have a look at D.Smith carving the wallride proper ( lower than usual) at Dundee concrete - that's how to do it!

Are You Alright?

This just in. Unfortunately not coming to Scotland, probably still reeling after the table football onslaught by Scotland after their last trip to Edinburgh. Ah well if you are in the Big Smoke pay Slam City Skates a visit and check out their skateboarding skills at Southbank on the 19th of May.
