The Daily Wallop!!

If you've visited the blog before, you might have noticed the link for oor friends over at The Daily Wallop, but if you haven't get over there.

Here's Stevie D and Colin C on a mission in the Jeep.

Anyway it's a mash up of Jeep's, Death Metal, Skateboarding and the inside of Crumbles motor. Like I said Daily Wallop it makes proper sense innit?

Ol' Dirty Bank Holiday

Ol' dirty bastard, what a legend!

We've got some new signs up around the court- 'No skating'. Oh well, 'No Breathing' soon. Nice work on the one I look at all day Sam. John Peel will always be missed.

Tryptich kicked off last night. There is something for a'body this weekend, provided you've got cashish. Although there's a Hip Hop ban in the shop, I'd really like to see Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie and Roxanne Shante as well as Kool Keith. Who would have thought that Scotland would have all these fools play in one weekend? Just need to remember my hip hop backpack- weed, mp3 player, house keys, cool- packed.

Got some new shralp sticks in this week from Blueprint, Landscape, Stereo, Popwar and Heroin. Something for everyone.

I was interviewed by the Scottish Skating Overlords (!), Skateboard Scotland Check it out.

Bank holiday on Monday, perfect weekend for over doing biscuits.

Mair 'crete!

Here's another fine example of Scottish concrete located in the town of Auchterader. According to Wikipedia Auchterader is know as the "Lang Toon" and up until the late 80's was home to an avaition museum. Shame. Anyway thanks to Gary Browne for the photie and thanks to Robo for the action.

Independently Dead

The dude who created Independent Trucks, Fausto Vitello, died this weekend whilst out cycling. Bummer.

Pay your respects by buying a set of Indy's or make a 'Page Of the Day' in the Built To Grind book.

"The founders of Independent Truck Company are Fausto Vitello, Eric Swenson, Jay Shuirman and Richard Novak. To know these four is to discover the essence of Independent; skateboarding, having fun, making money, improving products, a desire to win, and letting skaters be skaters- all with a "do it yourself/fuck off" attitude." (From Built To Grind.)

Another falls.

RIP.

Merry Weekend Chaps

What's on this weekend?

Uncle John and Whitelock play tonight at Stereo with The Black Diamond Heavies. Both bands have a member missing. UJ&W are without The Jam and Heavies have lost their guitarist somewhere between Memphis and Glasgow. Should be good.

There is a folk festival starting soon. I'm sure it's called 'Folk Off', which is quite funny coming from a bunch of folk folk.

Alex Irvine is heading doon the noo to t'Burnley with Senor Div to compete in the Bowlriders qualifiers. My money is probably on Div to get to the final. I hope he beats Omar Hassan at some point.

Head over to Thrasher magazine to witness Peter Hewits little clip. That dude sure can smoke weed and do one of the best back smiths around. Want to see him in Scoregon this year.

Skate well and pop by to continue debating about biscuits and golf. ( see below posts)

Today's photo is from the lens of G.B's new camera and shows the result of backside no comply walrides. The Jam.

Anyone wanting invites to the Nike floor show, email or call glasgow@focuspocus.co.uk/01415488777

Biscuit Time!

Notes from Glasgow.

Hiya Cowboy, you wanna lasso us some biscuits?

Aussies are collecting in Scotland. Mavie is back, Morgan is on his way back and Nate has survived winter well aside a broken skafoid.

Looking to be a good summer.

Lets lighten the debating mood here on the Blog, forget about the swoosh/golf and lets discuss when is a biscuit a biscuit?
( Is a Jaffa Cake a biscuit, discuss)

Beat it to Drumchapel

Found out about a rad wee park at Drumchapel in Glasgow last week. Quality concrete affair with a 4ft rectangle bowl with a spine to 2ft on the other side, pocket bowl, sausage, low level coping nearly alround and hips aplenty. There is a small street section with set of 4 with a square rail, flat bank hip, a curved ledge, straight ledge and a nasty driveway. It's up a path from the Donald Dewer Centre, go seek it out, well worth it. Col Campbell has got some choice lines sorted but here's The Commander bs lipslide spine transfer. We'll get some footage of the bs 270 out soon.

Check oot my shoes!

Yes. yes y'all!! You may, or more likely haven't noticed the lack of updates the past few weeks. This was partly due to inertia but mainly due to the amount of new footwear arriving at Castle Focus. We've now got new sneaks from Nike SB, DC, Lakai, DVS to name a few with more arriving every week.

Point your moose here to view our extensive footwear line.

The ashtray has left the building!!

So it's almost been a week since Scotland has said farewell to the art of indoor smoking. I still can't walk past a pub without wondering why there are so many people standing outside it. Is it a fight? Who's getting married? Has someone been stabbed? Oh right it's the smoking ban. It's no mean feat to make a country as dependent on vices as Scotland, to forsake something as addictive as tobacco and by christ how I already miss the comforting caress of a pint in one hand and a Regal small in the other. Farewell snouts, wheezers, tabs, fags, que sera sera!! Maybe one day you'll darken my fingers again.
